Special Populations, as they apply to Community Health Centers, occupy a unique client space and yet are applicable across multiple groups of our clients.  Special Populations provide the Health Center with unique problems and unique opportunities to serve the community.

Special Populations are defined by HRSA as being:  Veterans, Migrant and Seasonal Farm workers, Homeless, Native Americans, clients living in temporary housing and clients living with HIV. One client could belong to one or more of the above categories.
