TPP Program - Families Talking Together
Families Talking Together (FTT) is an evidence based program designed to support effective parent-adolescent communication among families in order to delay sexual initiation among young people ages 10-14. FTT has materials for both parents and adolescents in English and Spanish. The program manual is distributed by a trained facilitator to parents in face-to-face individual or small group sessions. The sessions primarily focus on teaching parents how to use the program manual and how to structure conversations with their adolescent children. The content emphasizes that parents can impact their adolescents’ sexual behavior by setting clear expectations, monitoring and supervising their adolescents, and creating an environment for open communication about sexual and relationship choices.
